Vishwanathan Shankar, Senior Vice President and Head of Global Delivery

Vishwanathan Shankar joined Covansys in 1994 and today is responsible for customer service delivery worldwide and solution enablement. Based in India, he provides leadership to a global delivery team. By leveraging Covansys’ Global Delivery Model, his team delivers efficient, rapid, and business aligned solutions to customers worldwide. His team works with customers in the financial services, healthcare, retail and automotive, utility and product engineering industries.

Mr. Shankar has more than 25 years of experience in IT Delivery, including IT Project Management and establishing and managing large outsourcing engagements in a complex, global delivery environment at organizations such as Tata Motors, TVS Group, and Syntel Software.

Mr. Shankar has significantly contributed to the growth and development of Covansys, and as a member of the leadership team, was instrumental in achieving Level 5 CMM^® and Level 5 PCMM^® assessment at the offshore operations facilities.

Mr. Shankar has a bachelor’s degree in Engineering and a master’s in Business Administration from the Indian Institute of Management. As a Certified Project Management Professional, he is an active member of PMI^® and IEEE. Mr. Shankar also participates in the curriculum building and governance of leading computer education institutions in India to promote industry institution interaction.
