IT Titans fight it out with Leather and Willow for CRY

Covansys employees and other major IT companies participated in the Corporate Cricket Challenge to help raise money for kids.

CRY (Child Relief and You), a non-profit organization that works to restore basic rights to underprivileged children, organized the event in the beautiful surroundings of Hampstead Heath in North London.

Covansys had a very good first match against Polaris. With some incessant cheering by our non-playing friends, family and colleagues, we won the match and made it to the semi-finals. Covansys was unfortunate to lose the semi-final match to a much stronger team and eventual winners of the tournament, Wipro Technologies.

The event was great fun for both the onlookers and the players. It provided a social platform in which to meet with our Covansys colleagues, and at the same time very satisfying to contribute to an important charitable cause. The proceeds of this event went toward sponsoring project Prayas, a non-profit organization in the USA to promote and support educational and developmental efforts in India. The project aims to rehabilitate and bring into the mainstream underprivileged children and children with special needs.

Although Covansys didn’t win the tournament, we were pleased to be a part of an event such as this where there are no losers; we all win when the Charity is the Grand Prize WINNER!
