Bowlathon Raises over $50,000 for Prostate Cancer! WXYT AM 1270 The Sports Station hosted The Big Show for the Big Cure Bowlathon event and raised over $50,000! The event went live on air at Troy Lanes in Troy, Michigan on Thursday, May 12, 2005 at 3:00 p.m. and lasted 28 hours until Friday May 13 at 7:00 p.m. This Radio-thon was hosted by AM 1270’s “The Big Show” with
Doug Karsch and Art Regner.
Several Henry Ford and Covansys employees had a great time volunteering during the 28-hour bowlathon answering phones for pledges and helping to keep the event operating smoothly. “In just three hours our Covansys volunteer group raised $15,000 answering phone pledges!” said Bridget Weir, Covansys Marketing Coordinator. All proceeds will benefit the Henry Ford Vattikuti Urology Institute
for prostate cancer research and treatment. The
Vattikuti Urology Institute was founded in 2001 by Henry Ford Health System with an initial donation
from The Vattikuti Foundation, a personal family foundation established
by Raj and Padma Vattikuti to achieve their philanthropic objectives.
