Data Hosting and Data Management

Covansys is currently providing data exchange services to a cooperative effort of manufacturers and distributors of animal health products. This effort is designed to eliminate multiple reporting methods by distributors and provide manufacturers with timely and accurate sales information. Working with all of the trading partners, Covansys has developed a trading community for the daily reporting of sales activity at the customer level.

Covansys is receiving daily EDI and Web transactions from distributors across the country and forwarding the validated transactions to member manufacturers. Additionally, Covansys is managing an industry-wide customer database, using a standard identifier, with updates provided by the distributors and manufacturers. This project was initiated by the sales divisions of the various manufacturers and is intended to provide those departments with daily sales information of their products.

Covansys is providing the data hosting functionality and clearinghouse services for this industry consortium. Experiences gained here with developing a trading partner community and centralized data management can be leveraged for your needs.

This project and others like it have provided Covansys with the opportunity to develop the skills required for electronic data interchange and to pursue additional opportunities as they relate to electronic commerce.
