Intelligent Networks and Next Generation Networks Applications Portfolio

Covansys’ telecommunications services fall into four broad categories: Wireline—Local, Wireline—Long Distance, Wireless, and Next-Generation.

Covansys can help you select the right product or customized solution to suit your business and network requirements.

Wireline—Local Services:

Talking Call Waiting (TCW) – This popular service extends the traditional call waiting service. The caller’s name is articulated via text-to-speech when an incoming call arrives, so subscribers can more effectively decide whether to take the call.

Call Screening Service – The Call Screening Service virtually eliminates nuisance calls. Incoming calls are screened based upon rules the subscriber sets on their home phone. Calls that are filtered out will hear a pre-recorded message of the subscriber’s choosing.

Local Toll Free (LTF)
-- our state-of-the art solution for supporting 800/8XX Local Toll-Free calls in the North American market. Our LTF fully supports an upstream interface to the National SMS, the repository of all toll free numbers in the North American market.

Talking *69 – Provides the previous caller’s name, in addition to their number when *69 is pressed.

Caller ID– The traditional Caller Id Service with name delivery.

TV Caller ID– The newest version of Caller ID, deployable by cable TV providers who also offer telephone service. Allows subscribers to have real-time Caller ID information displayed on their television.

Family 911 – When an emergency strikes and 911 is dialed, this service automatically alerts provisioned family members. Family members receive an automated call, stating that person X called 911 at time Y. This service is ideal for families that have elderly relatives living at home, or who have children home alone after school.

Network Voice Mail Screening – Provides an economical solution to the dilemma of how to screen incoming messages that are going to a network voice mail server. Our service provides this capability at significant savings over switch-based solutions. Subscribers listen in real-time as messages are recorded to their voice mailbox, and can optionally cut in and take the call.

Call Blaster – This is the next generation “follow me” service. Acceptance of the Follow Me concept has been slow, due to long waits while several phone lines are called in series. If the called party has 4 or 5 “reach me/follow me” numbers, the caller sometimes waits over 1 minute for the called party to pick up! Call Blaster eliminates this problem by simultaneously ringing all reach numbers at the same time.

Intelligent Call Manager – This takes Call Blaster concept one step further. When the initial incoming call is not answered, the caller is first prompted who they would like to speak to. Based upon who they choose, that person’s “reach me” numbers are all simultaneously called. A great new service, ideal for small businesses and families on-the-go.

Wireline—Long Distance Services:

Advanced Toll Free – Our state-of-the-art toll free routing application. Among ATF’s more popular features are its feature rich, least-cost-routing solution, as well as its cutting edge call center solution.

Virtual Private Network – Our feature-rich VPN solution, which also includes our popular post-paid calling card service.

Personal Toll Free Service – Extends all the functionality of Advanced Toll Free to a service targeted for residential and small business customers. With PTFS, residential subscribers can inexpensively have their own toll-free number, and can self-manage its route-to number.

‘Do Not Call List’ Querying Service – This new product allows telemarketers to automatically check phone numbers against the National Do Not Call Registry, prior to calling a number. If the number is on the list, the call is not permitted. If the number is not on the list, the call is automatically completed.

Wireless:

Internetworking Interoperability Function – This product is setting the standard for cross-technology roaming in the wireless world. IIF provides the translations to support CDMA<->GSM and TDMA<->GSM bi-directional roaming. Much needed at a global level, this product provides the capability of roaming across disparate network technologies.

In addition, our newest IIF version supports the emerging “GSM1X” standard, where CDMA is overlaid on an existing GSM network. Again, IIF provides the messaging and translations required to make GSM1X a reality.

Next-Generation Services:

VoiceXML Gateway – Our VoiceXML product gives a voice to the internet. Using sophisticated Text-to-Speech (TTS) and Automated Speech Recognition (ASR) technologies, subscribers surf the web through their phone. Carriers have already used the VoiceXML Gateway to provide stock quotes, news headlines, weather, driving directions, and even email reading to their subscriber base.

Commands are provided in either DTMF or voice. VoiceXML Gateway provides an exciting new revenue stream for carriers who wish to offer cutting edge services to their subscribers.
