FARMINGTON
HILLS, Mich., (APRIL 30, 2001) - Covansys (Nasadq:
CVNS), a global technology services provider, today
announced the successful launch of a dramatically
enhanced website for Everpure Inc., a USFilter Consumer
and Commercial Group company and subsidiary of Vivendi
Environmental. Everpure, based in Westmont, IL, asked
Covansys to redesign its website as part of a longer-term
effort in which the 65-year old company is taking
its quest to protect the world's drinking supplies
to the World Wide Web, http://www.everpure.com.
"Water
safety today is a critical issue,"said Eleni Vlahos,
marketing manager at Everpure. "We're a company
with unique products and solutions designed to deliver
premium quality water to homeowners, restaurants, hospitals,
schools and businesses, as well as to the marine and
airline industries. Our goal is to service all our
customers in each of these areas and give them the
protection that they need.
"Everpure
realized that we could harness the power and the reach
of the Internet to provide consumers with solutions
to their water treatment needs. But we didn't have
that kind of technical expertise in-house, and we wanted
to get the job done fast, so we reached out to Covansys.
Covansys created a website that provides complete customized
information for each of our various customer segments,
while strengthening our brand's cohesive presence and
identity."
"The
Everpure website redesign was an exciting project for
the Covansys team," said Mark Ross, sales executive
for Covansys. "We were essentially tasked with
rebuilding the site from the ground up, including a
new look and feel, updated content and added functionality."
Covansys
brought the combined talents of two of its off-site
Advanced Technology Centers (ATCs) to the Everpure
project. The creative team in Detroit designed the
website using tools such as dynamic HTML, JavaScript,
and Macromedia Dreamweaver. Meanwhile, a state away
in Chicago, another off-site ATC team used ASP and
SQL Server to develop and integrate a data driven catalog
and distributor database.
"This
collaborative, off-site model allowed our project team
to quickly respond to the immediacy of Everpure's project
requirements by combining Covansys' design, project
management and programming expertise in a virtual team
environment," said Ross.
The
end result is an interactive and dynamic site that
encourages visitors to learn more about the associated
environmental and health risks associated with poor
filtration-and more importantly, what they can do about
it. As part of the website redesign, Covansys added
unique features such as "The Everpure Grill," which
highlights water safety issues in the foodservice industry,
and "Water University," which is designed
to teach the public about water-related environmental
and health risks. The site also features a searchable
online products database that provides cutting-edge
solutions to today's most common water safety problems.
Covansys
provides Web-to-Enterprise Integration (WEIsm) services,
Strategic Outsourcing, and Industry-Specific solutions
to a wide range of Fortune 1000 companies, as well
as to numerous state and local governments.
